12th Night

The play begins tonight, and I feel fairly confident about it.  Rehearsal last night went well---much better than the night before, which was god awful---and the temperature was not as high, but most of us were still bathed in sweat before it was done.  I am still not feeling 100%---neither in physical health nor in preparation for the performance.  Having missed an entire week of rehearsal, especially as it was late in the rehearsal process, I truly feel that I am at a disadvantage.  But, as I say, after last night, I feel a great deal better than I did earlier in the week, and I am eager to perform in front of an audience.  Truly, I enjoy the performances of some of my fellow cast members so much, I simply wish to see them "do their thing," as it were.  I draw a lot of energy (the energy of amusement, and even joy) from them, and feel it improves my own work.  It is something I truly appreciate.

The schedule, for those of you interested, willing, and able to attend, is not complicated: tonight and tomorrow at 7:00, and the same thing next Friday and Saturday.  No Sunday matinee, which really surprises me.  And, policy of the park's department is that both shows will have to be rained out for another weekend to be added.  So, if we get rained out tonight (of which there is a slight chance), the show is simply cancelled.  Tomorrow looks to be a pleasant day.
