So this weekend was a whirlwind.
Mom got here Thursday night and we left Friday morning to go to Philadelphia for Greg and Mary’s wedding but we had to stop in Norfolk so I could get an ultrasound on day 10. Totally expected to see morning, but I had a 17mm follicle which is pretty big for so early on. I feel like it just keeps moving up. So they didn’t want to wait til we were back in town on Monday and we ended up having to drive to Richmond on Sunday to get a scan. Which ended up being a good thing because I had a 21mm follicle and we ended up triggering that night and doing IUI on Tuesday. And this IUI was a doozie, let me tell you. It has never hurt this much and this doctor actually did an abdominal ultrasound to confirm where the catheter was so I actually saw it go into my uterus. I feel like the other two times, especially the last time, they weren’t in the right place. Also since they updated their Covid policies Chris was able to be in the room for it and he said he has a lot more respect and sympathy for me now because of what I have to go through for all this. He just literally has to jizz in a cup and go on about his merry way. Anyway I’m feeling good about our chances this time. I hope it worked.
So the wedding was a lot of fun. It was in a museum so the ceremony was kind of meh, just small and in this okay room. The whole place is historic so it had that creaky wood floor charm but nothing spectacular. Short ceremony, they both cried. The cocktail hour was in the brain exhibit so that was neat. Then they opened these double doors to the reception area which was in like the main receiving area of the museum and in the middle was an enormous statue of Ben Franklin. They had stars projected onto the ceiling and M&G projected on the walls. So that was super cool. Me and Chris actually slow danced a few times since neither of us likes dancing. All in all good weekend.
Now if I could just be pregnant, that would be fantastic.
