Second Great REplay: Resident Evil 0 Disc 1
Starting up my Resident Evil 0 game (in my Wii, of course!) I decided to give a try to the Leech Hunter mini-game, so I could have unlimited ammo. I mean, why not?
So I loaded up (I really like Rebecca’s leather outfit!) and managed to actually get 98 for the jewel leeches, with Billy in ‘Danger’ health and no more healing items. I left it at that, which unlocked the Magnum. I already had unlimited ammo for the handgun unlocked, so I figured I was ready to start!
I then realized that you can’t change the difficulty on New Game +.
Well…damn.
I wanted to play through using alt costumes, but I also didn’t want all my time on Leech Hunter to go to waste. So I decided that, once again, I would play through on Easy, but this time with infinite ammo.
Talk about overkill!
This is my third time through the game, and thanks to my time playing Leech Hunter, I actually knew where everything in the Mansion was located. (This is a rare occurrence for me, as I tend to get really lost in games.) I healed like twice, and generally kicked ass all the way through the first disk. (Which I beat in an afternoon. Go me!)
The only time I died was on the train. I always die at the end where one character needs to run the length of the train to put the keycard in the caboose. It’s not because the time limit is too low, or I die from enemies. Oh no. It’s because I always forget the Black Magnetic card sitting on the Engineer’s table. ALWAYS.
Though I turned things around. I almost always have Billy run back since he’s got the better stamina of the two, and I forgot you encounter the Edward Dewey zombie. So when I had to redo that part (which, by the way, I didn’t save at all so I had to start from the beginning X_X) I used Rebecca instead. For my troubles, I got to see a sad little cutscene where Becky was all like “EDWARD!” and sad music played…and it was sad : (
The Plague Crawlers (little roach/insect monsters) freak me out. The noises they make are so disgusting sounding. Ughhghghgh heebie jeebie
The Eliminator/Monkeys are so friggin annoying. They are like the hardest enemy to kill in the whole friggin game. With the enhanced handgun on Billy, Hunters go down in like five shots. The Eliminator’s take like ten. I hate the little swarmy bastads.
I still have issues with James Marcus’ look. He looks like a weird mage anime guy. His long hair, and flowing robes, seem so…outta place…in the RE universe. And his really girly singing. I think I have a better grasp of his role within the main story and Umbrella’s social structure this time, but…yeah. Dude looks like a lady. An ugly lady.

See, Marcus, if you wanna have long hair, you need to take after Billy. Even with a mullet that man looks fine. (And I swear Billy has a sexy voice.) This makes me want Billy in a newer game all the more!
And yeah, for the curious, still totally ship Billy/Becky. Second favorite RE Het ship? I’d say so.
Birkin’s voice is pretty meh in this title, but he sure is a cutie.
That’s about it. Done with Disc 1, I think I’ll go tackle Disc 2 now. Wish me luck!
