[ The first thing McCoy did when when that "Mandatory Rest Day" was lifted was make sure that Northern Sickbay was in tip-top shape. Being the Commander had it's perks and it's downfalls, of course. He felt like he was babysitting himself at times (which was as weird as it sounded). Once he was content with how it was arranged, he gave the orders ( Read more... )

[She had found herself in an unfamiliar place, far from the reaches of the safety of the Metron Consortium, alone with only an overwhelming silence stifling the stagnant air. Panic quickly began to swell in her chest as she roamed the station wearing the garb of her people.

This was a station in the Federation of Planets; her people were not meant to have made First Contact with them yet... they were still childish and primitive in comparison to their race. The news of the insurgence from the Romulan seeking vengeance for his planet carried over the stars was proof enough. She found herself in a recreational area of the station and the young Metron tried to blink away the tears.]

[ Enjoying his meal was something he had always wanted to do ever since joining Starfleet. But something that seemed to be robbed of him all the time. He looked up to see the young blond wandering the room. Sighing he left the utensil in the food and stood up. ]

You alright miss?

[Her eyes fall onto the human in the Promenade getting to his feet and addressing her. She claps her hands together in front of her in a protective manner and blinks at him benignly before mustering up the courage to respond.]

I.. um, I am very sorry to inconvenience you, but could I enquire as to where I am exactly...?

A Cardassian station named Shtel Nor, from what I gather. Computer says the stardate is 2540.

Greetings, Commander. Am I disturbing your repast?

You're disturbing my damn meal, Spock. That's hardly new.

[ Chekov wasn't exactly sure what he was doing in the Promenade. It just seemed to be the place to find people, so when he had the idea that he wanted to talk to someone, he meandered on over. Seeing an old man whose face seemed eerily familiar wasn't something he expected, though. ]

My God, even you're younger. What the hell did they do? Zap the crew and make them over forty years younger?

[Ah, the promenade bar. One of McCoy favourite haunts. James T. Kirk had Ops, Spock had the Observation Deck and he had a place where he could get ratted off his face. Or try and gather his thoughts. So he was not surprised when he saw himself thirty years down the line sitting in one of the booths. Oh, joy.]

[ He was hardly surprised to see himself thirty years younger. But he's content to eat his lunch, even if it kills him. ]

Somehow I get the feeling if you hallucinated your older self, Leonard, he'd be much more handsome.

[It was always more difficult than it really needed to be to hunt down his captain. Even so, this seemed to be a good place to start. He didn't find exactly who he was looking for, but spotted another familiar face and approached, stood at a respectful distance- he was intruding, after all.]

I assume you are enjoying yourself, doctor.

Always trying to. Seems like there's less damn peace on this station than on the Enterprise.

[ None the less the doctor motioned for him to join him. ]

This does seem to be the case. The sense of urgency here is somewhat different.

[He nodded once and sat across from the doctor, folding his hands on the table in front of him.]

The great adventure of "trying to find our way home." How poetic. Like god damn Noah's Ark.
