[ the elder spock from the year 2387 -- or, 2258.50, depending on how one wishes to classify him -- stands at the railing of the observation deck that overlooks the floor below. his hands are clasped behind his back in drew spock fashion as he silently observes the goings on of the station. the conversation he'd had with a version of his father ( Read more... )

[ Jimena's in a sort of happy daze as she walks towards the observation decks that day. She didn't really have any idea why... maybe it was being able to work on cars, or maybe it was having a fantastic boyfriend, or maybe it was some combination of that and so many other things that were happening. -Ena wasn't quite sure why she had the urge to go to the observation deck, she just went where her feet carried her, she supposed. But she stopped short when she saw that someone was already there. ]

Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't think anyone was... in... here...

[ spock pulls himself out of his thoughts to turn his head to regard the newcomer. if he he shocked to see a female version of the captain, he doesn't show it -- after all, he has been paying close attention to the station and those who are trapped within it. he knows there was a female jim running around and it was only a matter of time before they ran into one another. there were only so many places to go on a station this size. ]

There is no need to apologize, Jim. Please, join me.

[ She bites her lower lip and goes to stand by Spock. ]

So you know who I am, then? Or was it more of an educated guess?

[ the old vulcan nods in acknowledgment. he knows who she is, but would not be surprised if there were more differences between her and the other kirks that went beyond the switch in gender. ]

Somewhat of both. I have made a point to keep track of those on this station and the new arrivals. I have been aware of your presence for quite some time.

[ kirk came and stood next to the elder version of his first officer. he was content for a while not saying anything, looking down at the floor below them. he had been trying to find bones and was so far unsuccessful. eventually he leaned against the railing and looked up at the half-vulcan. ]

Have any grapes on you?

[ had any other person proposed such a question to him, the old ambassador would have questioned their sanity. this is not, however, the strangest, nor the most random, thing he has heard from a james kirk and finds it to me somewhat of a normal phrasing for the young man.

he turns his head to regard him, arching a slanted eyebrow in curiosity. ]

Grapes, Jim?

If you have grapes, you can nail people in the head as they walk by. Then move backwards so they never see you. Did it all the time at the Academy.

[ he looked back at the elder spock and grinned. that was actually how he tried to get bones's attention most the time. he would be talking to a very nice looking medical student (and not hitting on her). so he'd hit him in the head with grapes from the floor above.

it wasn't juvenile. no matter what bones says. ]

If there was anyone who could convince me to throw grapes at the back of unsuspecting people's heads, Jim, it would be you.

[ as always, such a statement comes easy to him. it's jim, after all, despite it not being the one who had been like a brother to him in ways that sybok was incapable of. jim was still jim, no matter what the version. ]

However, the size of this station presents you with the obstacle of not having many places to run or hide, should any of your victims chose to...return the favor, so to speak.

[Doctor McCoy is running out of places to retreat to in order to avoid running into people he has managed to bicker with lately. But, at the very least, he has had nothing new to add to the collection of faded bruises on his face and he can be thankful for that.

He can vaguely recall the Spock from his crew coming to the Observation Deck in order to clear his head some time ago - he can't remember when, it was hard to keep track of time in this place - and he decides to follow his example and go there. McCoy was fervently hoping it was abandoned, but his hopes are dashed when he spots an elderly Vulcan standing on the Observation deck.

Oh fate, how funny you are.]

[ interestingly enough, outside the kirks, the version of spock who originally hails from the late 24th century, yet is from the same point in the alternate timeline as the .50 crew, has yet to encounter any other versions of the people who were part of his kirk's crew. this seemed to be remedied, however, when he was presented with the sound of footsteps and turned to face a very familiar, although younger, face. ]

Doctor Leonard H. McCoy.

[McCoy at first wonders whether this Vulcan has spoken to his counterpart on the station, but for some reason his mind wanders back to a time where he arrived on the station and encountered a Vulcan with the rank of Captain. That had been Spock and he had delighted in telling McCoy about the time he put his katra into his head. Well, another version of McCoy, but the current Doctor found it very incredulous. He inclines his head. This elderly Vulcan looks very familiar.]

Spock?

[Different timelines, different realties, Leonard H. McCoy can afford to take a few guesses.]

[ the old vulcan clasps his hands together behind his back and gives the younger human a small, yet firm nod. ]

Your presume correctly, Doctor.
