I spent so much time in the fricking car yesterday. Seriously. I woke up at 10:30ish, milled around the house, finished my history paper, watched a movie, showered, packed up some clothes and stuff in my backpack, and then Ted and I left for Connecticut around 3:30. My parents had gone earlier and the family party started at like, 5 so we most definately were not getting there in time for the beginning. So we drovedrovedrove for years it felt like, being random. At first we were sort of in seperate worlds; he was listening to the news he had downloaded on his iPod on the car radio and I was listening to music on my iPod. Then he turned on this news hour special he had downloaded about the possibility of man soon living on the moon and I'm a tool so I turned my iPod off and we listened to that with rapt attention. Every time we drive to my cousins' house we pass the town Clarks Falls at the beginning of Connecticut and we always talk about stopping there and what we imagine is there, so Ted was like, LET'S GO TO CLARKS FALLS! So we drove in. And it ended up being more rural than Rehobeth. Seriously, there were tractors and cows everywhere. So we got bored of Clarks Falls so we got back on the highway and finally the moon thing ended so we listened to one with a bunch of reviewers talking about the best books of the year which was also interesting.
Then we reached the house at like, 6:30 and everyone was getting ready for the dinner. There were about 30 people there; craziness. So Ted and I are eating dinner with our cousins and we're supposed to be staying in a hotel overnight and all of a sudden Ted is like, I want to sleep in my own bed tonight. And I was like, ME TOO. So at 10 we got back on the highway and drove home, and basically the whole time we listened to obnoxious Christmas songs and cracked up at everything and made fun of people driving by us and were on major sugar highs from all the desserts we'd had. For some reason I kept yelling in his ear? But it was the funniest thing. At one point he was flipping through the radio and I heard that Fergie song and I was like FERGIE FERG! I don't even know why. Maybe because it was 12:15 and we had already driven 4 1/2 hours? So FINALLY we got home at 12:45 and I stayed up and watched half of the movie "Holiday Inn" which is one of my favorite classic movies. Then I went to bed.
And today I've had a chill day. Umm... P.S, no one tell Matt I was actually home? Since basically I blew off practice. I don't even really care but I'd prefer if he didn't know so he can't get mad at me.
