He gets to his feet and wipes at his chin, then reaches out for her.
“That hand of yours still gives me the creeps,” she smirks.
“Oi! This is the original model, remember?” he protests, persistently wiggling his fingers.
“Doctor,” she laughs, “I’m all wet.”
“Already?” he asks, eyebrows shooting up.
And, well. How could she refuse an invitation like that

First you bring the angst:
the only things he has in this universe are his name and her hand. If they’re going to deny him access to one, it’s nothing short of cruel to strip him of the other.
Then you bring barmy!Rose:
it’s possible that she throws things but she can’t really remember, it’s all a blur, because as soon as Owen opens that door everything that isn’t the Doctor goes quite spectacularly out of focus.
Then you haul out the funny:
“Doctor,” she laughs, “I’m all wet.”
“Already?” he asks, eyebrows shooting up.
And then you bitch slap us with the love:
he climbs in after her, and in moments she’s utterly lost to sensation and rhythm and him...She finally, finally has him in a place where he’s safe: where she knows she can’t lose him; where he’s solid and tangible and overwhelming all of her senses.

Hi there! Just wondering if you wouldn't mind elaborating on this a little bit, that's a keen observation, I just want to make sure I know what you mean. I can see mellow (in that I guess how he hangs back a bit when everyone is on the TARDIS), just wondering how you mean 'smoldering.' (Personally, I think he's a bit oversexed too ... one of my favorite clips from JE is Donna's "I got the best bit of the Doctor" and then the shot of TenII raising his eyebrows and smirking at the double entendre =D)

I'd have to watch it again to really be sure, but as I remember, I want to say that David did not ever really play the Time Lord Doctor to be sexy. He's sexy because he's an attractive guy and his suit is nice, but he doesn't really play him sexy. Which makes a lot of sense considering David's interview quotes about "there's no shagging in the TARDIS." No matter how affectionate and tender the Doctor and Rose were toward each other, it never seemed specifically sexual to me, but rather very innocent ( ... )

God, this is everything that a Layers companion ought to be: full desperation and angst and yet also this hope for better things to come. I love Rose's little spasms of fear and of paranoia; I adore her growth and how well you've depicted her taking charge, but at the same time also showing how there's still some part of her that's nineteen years old and desperately in love with this man that she somehow can't not be apart from anymore. That it's okay, sometimes, to be that girl.
Also, the fact that they're obsessing over being apart while being in the same building feeds so well into my angst proclivities, and is glorious unto itself, but then you throw these jaw-droppingly beautiful lines at me like her palm slides up against the wall driven by sheer muscle memory - and it's like you've made all my dreams come true. It's like Christmas has come early. It's like a birthday cake for lunch. It's amazingAND OH MY GOD, BATHROOM SCENE. Seriously, just as amazing and incredible and glorious as ever ( ... )

First, I read this as "The only things he has in this universe are his name and his hand," which reads completely differently--loads more angst. But I like it much better how you have it.
After a very long pause, he breathes her name with the kind of awed reverence that only he could ever muster, and her palm slides up against the wall driven by sheer muscle memory
omgomg, there is something so beautiful about this line. So wonderful.
The bathroom bit was lovely! I feel like I've read a similar fic, but I can't really remember. Hrm.
SO WONDERFUL. I've said it time and time again, but your ability to choose the perfect words and phrases is just so amazing. Also, you "get" Rose like no other. She is 100% in character, beyond in character.
YOU ARE JUST THE BEST
