Jeanne-Marie never liked using her ability. No, that wasn't true, she loved it. It felt right, speeding faster than any car or plane down to wherever she wanted to be. It was just that every bone in her body told her be normal. Still, she had always wanted to shop in New York...
And that was what brought her there, walking down fifth avenue, her heels clicking against the spotless concrete. There were sections of Montreal like this, and some of the stores were the same, but it was the atmosphere that mattered. She had even spent a little money, what little she felt alright spending, and the bag almost slipped from her arm.
It must have been a coincidence then that someone else lost control of their purchases. This person was at the very end of the block, with bags threatening to topple over. Always help a person in need, Jeanne-Marie. That had been a lesson learned long ago, and it kicked in before she could even think. She ran to the end of the street to help the woman with her bags. It wasn't until she noticed the woman staring that she realized what she had done.
She had shown that she wasn't normal, and now, now everyone was staring.
