SaskTel

I am now an employee of SaskTel, about to start my training tomorrow morning. I will be working as internet/technical telephone support. Unfortunately they made me sign a contract saying I wouldn't talk about it; but the pay is really good (~18.67$/hr), far better than what I would probably get otherwise(closer to 2$/hr), so I've unfortunately had to compromise my principles in agreeing to sign it. Not that you should feel sad; I interpret the very same contract as limiting my usefulness to them; if they wish no information about SaskTel to escape through me then it will work the other way as well -- there will be a minimal amount of information about the rest of the world that will find its way into SaskTel through me; and certainly information about me will not find its way into their hands through me. Although we'll see how that goes. I was considerring starting a very pro-sasktel/pro-telco blog instead of letting such drivel be placed in these pages; but since I signed the contract, there will be No blogging. Whatsoever. Pity. In the meanwhile, if I can keep this job, and work at it for awhile, I can pay off the rest of my education, survive "comfortably", perhaps have a new peice of computer equipment or two(just bought a 9$ laptop, obtained a cellphone and batteries for my camera, that's probably all for now), and even have enough left for a minor external project or two. This is good news, and I've been trying all last semester to find a job; this was worth the wait. We'll see how it goes from here.
