Ripple update & etc

Some interesting stats about my ripple usage:

I have been at over 32 connections since this weekend -- It is starting to get to the point where people I know of have ripple accounts with eachother and money is being transferred in unpredictable ways as ripple finds optimal paths. I don't remember when I hit 16, but it wasn't that long ago, I don't think(mabye late 2008?)

It is getting used -- I've been the centre of around 5858$ volume through the network, total, either to or from me. All of which I at least I've considered 'meaningful' transactions (to some degree, at least). So...worth more than a whole summer of work.

Apparently the main developer of RipplePay (the main implementation site of ripple) is starting to get close to re-releasing a site. Hopefully they get the p2p side working a little better, now that it's starting to see some use.

My ratio of dollars in to dollars out is about 1.75 dollars out for every dollar in.

My leverage ratio is about 2.3, unless you count my non-ripple liabilities, in which case it's about 3.0. This is very very favourable to US banks (10+ at best), or some of the more vulnerable hedge funds (100+).

I haven't been keeping up to date with the ripple exchange, but that's been going on too.

Work is going ok, next week might be an unintentional pettite deathmarch, but at this point, I kind of welcome something like that just to shake things up a little and make me feel a little more valuable.

ben_harack is moving to Montreal soon, his going away party is next week. Hopefully I'll be able to keep in contact with him. Came up with some good ideas with him yesterday (as we often do when we're in the same room) but I need to know more about linguistics and cognitive science than I do to really pursue them. He lent me some of his books for safekeeping -- I think after he leaves I'll try to polish off a book or two on the shelf, now that my bookshelf is growing, and start from there. Otherwise I've started reading the IPCC AR4 reports, and the world war I source record book(which is so depressing to read that I have put it down for now).
