Ha! I never thought of Peter Gabriel, but now I totally hear it. Sadly this song's coming out on the album - August 19 :( BUT his other stuff is amazing, still. Like Drawing Blood is the first (and thus far only) album I ever bought where I liked literally every single song.

So, my mum's been looking for new music recently, so I recommended this to her. In the last twenty minutes I have received no less than four emails in return, all linking to his music around the interwebs and lastly to this:

http://gotye.com/#about.html

Which you may have already read, but is a work of freaking genius.

Infection of others: successful! \o/

Yeah, I read it ages ago and just ... yeah, genius. *hearts him so hard* Hadn't read the updated stuff, though. I now want to just go and listen to all my Gotye music over and over in a cool dark room.

It's funny, everyone spots these things but me. Dunno why. I played a friend of mine this song, which was one of his earliest, and he immediately went, "Well HE listened to a lot of The Cure!" And I'm like ... huh.

Me, I'm just mesmerized. Obviously too much to start thinking about influences!
