My bathroom ceiling is leaking. It started around 2:00 a.m. this morning. It stopped for a good part of the day, but it started up again about two hours ago. Everything's soaked for a second time around. Maintenance guy came in around 7:00 a.m., looked at it, and then left. Never heard anything about the issue until I put in my second emergency maintenance request tonight. The apartment manager called me back from her home number, and was a total bitch about the entire issue, acting like I was being somehow unreasonable about wanting to actually use my bathroom, and pretty much informed me I'm consigned to staying up changing buckets and towels all night until the leak stops again.
Apparently the issue is the third floor hallway toilet has a leak, and it's causing problems in the two apartments below it. The Hispanic family up there was told not to use the toilet so it would stop flooding two floors, but obviously they 'forgot' that. She says they need some kind of specialized tool (with a camera on it, it seems) to fix the problem, and they don't have the tool, so they can't do anything until tomorrow morning. Who wants to bet the tool doesn't show up tomorrow and the morons two floors up keep flushing the toilet all the live long day?
In other news, my right forearm has been severely slashed up by Pearls. She'd taken to being aggressive against the stray today, and when I tried to pull her away from harrassing Grundy (who was hiding behind a set of blinds on the windowsill) she went nuts. Took seven bandaids to cover up most of the cuts. This is the first time she's struck out at me in malice like that, so I wasn't really expecting it. Seems the two cats take turns on who is the 'bad' cat each day. Today Grundy was as sweet as pie and acting very friendly and even submissive towards Pearls, which made how Pearls acted all the worse.
So now I'm soggy, sore, and sleep-deprived. Yay me.
