Failure to update each day doesn't mean I haven't done anything (other than post)! Since I last posted, Wednesday I did 327 words, Thurday 236, Friday 387 (before going out to an office leaving do) and today 1016, bringing the running total so far to 12,305 or 25% done. 840 words yesterday, 1793 today, for a grand total of 4,150 (8%!). Also, much prepping for methodology section, which I'm going to tackle next - and a sudden insight into how to lay out the section on police attitudes to young people. (Whisper) I think this may actually, finally be coming together ...

The plan for this weekend was to get the 'Every Child Matters' articles sorted out and ready for insertion in the relevant bit of the thesis (which is pending, really it is - I finally figured out where Neighbourhood Policing fits!). There will be one, I'm sure of it. The stacks of paper are reducing - although I must confess much of what I'm looking at is what my professor would call 'background'. (a) washed the car
(b) planted two lilac trees (this involved removing turf, and digging quite deep holes in very hard ground full of builders' rubble)
(c) been to Milton Keynes to check out academic resources at the Open University library, and visit Lush (of course)
