Bailey wasn’t sure why he was getting a creepy feeling that John liked him. Lately, he always tried to be with Bailey when the team split up, and John had started to call every night.
Though John and Bailey were friends, it wasn’t like John to seem not to have a social life so he could call someone every night. John didn’t even call his girlfriends every night when he had one.
Bailey wasn’t even sure that John liked men, but every time John was near he reminded Bailey of those teenagers with those puppy dog crushes on their teachers. Bailey figured he could deal with it later, if it came up he would just tell John that he wasn’t his type.
So, he ignored it for a couple of weeks, and that is when he started to get little presents- cigars, good scotch, a Bonsai tree, opera CDS, a miniature Zen garden. The gifts had no card, but part of Bailey’s mind told him they were from John. But he hoped not.
12 days after the presents, Bailey walked into his office, and found John sitting on his desk with nothing but a trench coat, a fedora, and a smile.
Bailey sighed with his head in his hands, not saying anything for a moment. “You know I don’t like you like that, John.” He removed the head from his hands, but kept his gaze diverted to the carpet.
John frowned a little. “I’m sorry. I’ve been acting like a fool. This is a bit embarrassing.” He tightened his trench coat, and walked out. He stopped at the door for a moment. “Can we pretend this didn’t happen?”
“Yes.” Bailey closed his door.

“You did all of this just to lose $100. I told he wasn’t gay.” George said coming up behind John as he finished getting dressed.
John grumbled and pulled out his wallet. He pulled out five twenties, and gave them to George. “Well, I didn’t believe that whole gaydar thing.”
George chuckled, and walked out of the door, putting the money in his pocket. George went to the parking lot.
“That was a bit obsessive means to try to win a bet.” A voice said by George’s car, the end of his cigar glowing.
“I know. I’m glad it’s over, now we can go back to sneaking behind everyone’s back, Bail.” George and Bailey exchanged a kiss, before they went to their separate cars.
George was going to follow Bailey home, so he could leave his car there for Frances. Then Bailey and George would go to Red Lobster to spend some of the money George had just won.
