Hey Guys!
I decided to enter Boolprop’s Short Story event for Halloween and I thought I’d upload my entry to LJ as it is a spin-off of “The Clique: Next Generation” story that I released a few days ago.
So, I hope you enjoy!

Lewis sighed heavily. He had been waiting for his icing to set for what seemed like years and it was still not dry. Rosanna watched from the other side of the kitchen, giggling to herself.
“Shut up!” Lewis shouted at her.
“I didn’t say anything!” she replied, grinning.
Lewis grunted something before checking on his icing once more. He sighed once more as Rosanna chuckled, looking at her cakes which were all ready to go. Lewis’ eyes flickered towards them in envy.
“I’m going upstairs to get ready” Rosanna said. “We have to leave in half an hour, so make sure you’re ready”.
Lewis mumbled something as Rosanna walked out of the kitchen. After waiting for another five minutes, Lewis’ patience was beginning to run out. His eyes scanned the kitchen and he saw Rosanna’s cakes, sitting perfect on the counter. He moved towards them slowly and placed his hand on the stand holding them, preparing himself for what he was about to do. Suddenly, Cher ran into the kitchen in her pyjamas.
“Daddy!” she said, sweetly. “What are you doing?”
“I... uh... I’m just checking to see if Mummy’s cakes are ready for the party. What are you doing?” he replied. “You should be in bed already!”
Cher beamed at him and he smiled back. He picked her up and gave her a long hug.
“Now, you need to go to bed now. It’s late and you’ve got school tomorrow.” He said.
He put Cher back down and she grumpily walked upstairs and into her bedroom. As Lewis turned back around he saw that his icing had finally set. He quickly placed the cakes in one of his plastic containers and ran upstairs to get changed.

As he and Rosanna walked out of the house twenty minutes later, they were both carrying their treats.
“Just face it Rosanna! My treats are better than yours” Lewis said.
Rosanna scoffed. “Don’t make me laugh! Everyone prefers my cooking to yours” she replied.
Lewis scowled. “No they don’t! You know everyone likes my Ghost Meringues more than your pumpkin cakes!”
The two argued all the way to June and Kelsey’s house, with the argument ending with Rosanna insulting Lewis’ choice in jumper.
“My sweater is not ugly Rosanna!” Lewis insisted.
“It has a pumpkin on it that lights up Lewis, I think that can be classed as ugly” she replied.
Just as she said that, Kelsey opened the door and the two were forced to stop arguing.
----
As Lewis and Rosanna walked into the living room, everyone burst into fits of laughter, they began pointing as Lewis’ flashing sweater and started to tease him about it.
“It’s even worse than the one he wore last Christmas” June said.
“I didn’t think he could find worse than that one” Jules replied.
As Lewis sat down and tried to ignore the insults, the group began to decide on what film to watch.
“Please can we watch Repo!” Heather asked.
A few of the others nodded in agreement, but many people groaned.
“No” Lewis moaned. “We watch Repo! at every single party!”
“I agree.” Jules said. “I like it, but we do watch it a lot”
There was silence in the room for a moment as everyone thought of things to watch.
“How about Hocus Pocus?” Lewis suggested.
“Yes!” Mara exclaimed. “I love that film!”
“We’ve got Paranormal Activity” Kelsey said, ignoring Mara and Lewis.
Everyone nodded in agreement and Kelsey began sliding the disc into the DVD player.
“I’ve ... gotta go upstairs” Lewis said, nervously.
He quickly got up from his seat and made his way upstairs. He entered the first empty room and sat down on the bed.
-----
Twenty minutes later, Lewis heard footsteps coming up the stairs and quickly stood up, and exited the room. He saw Heather standing at the top of the stairs, looking confused.
“What’s taking you so long?” she asked.
“I ... I was just looking around” he lied.
“Were you scared of the film?” she replied, grinning.
“No...” Lewis responded.
“Aww!”
“I wasn’t scared” Lewis insisted.
“Maybe... I can comfort you?” Heather said, leaning in towards Lewis, kissing him.
-----
When Lewis and Heather returned downstairs, they headed straight for the kitchen. Although June has ordered nobody to eat food until the film was over, Lewis and Heather began searching for food. As Lewis was looking at the food on the counter, Lewis saw them. Rosanna’s cakes were sitting there, taunting him. He looked around and saw Heather looking in the fridge. He quickly swiped at the stand, causing it to tumble off the side and onto the floor. The icing on the cakes splattered all over the floor. Lewis jumped over the mess and sprinted to the toilet, making it just in time. The rest of the party swarmed into the kitchen and saw the mess on the floor. Rosanna looked up and saw Heather in the kitchen, she scowled at her.
“How could you Heather?” she screamed.
Heather turned around and saw everybody looking at her. “Sorry guys, I was hungry” she replied.
“You ruined my cakes!” Rosanna exclaimed, furiously.
“What are you talking about?” Heather asked. She turned around and saw the mess on the floor. “Ouch!” she said, smiling.
Rosanna’s anger boiled over and she glared at Heather. She then charged at her, grabbing her hair and pulling on it. As everyone gathered around, trying to split the two up, Lewis slipped out of the bathroom and into the lounge, where he turned off Paranormal Activity and turned on Hocus Pocus. Mara was quick to re-enter the living room and sat down on one of the sofas, watching the film intently.
-----
When the film had finished, everyone began to filter into the kitchen to get their dinners. Heather found herself standing next to the new neighbour of the street, Tom.
“How did you like the film?” she said flirtingly.
“Ummm... It was okay... I guess?” he replied, sounding unsure.
Heather winked at him and he smiled back, nervously.
“Remember everyone! “ June shouted. “Take a bit of everything so that we can all judge who brought the best food!”
Lewis scanned the kitchen for his cakes and meringues and couldn’t find them. He asked several people and they said that they had not seen them. Lewis ran into the dining room to see Chip with an empty plate with several cake cases and meringue crumbs left on it. Lewis screamed in anger and stormed to the kitchen where he grabbed his coat and left the party.

I hope everyone enjoyed that. It was just a bit of fun and I thought it’d be a good thing for me to write more of The Clique: Next Generation so that I can get into this writing style a bit more.
Sorry, I didn’t get Marina Chapters out like I’d hoped, but Chapter 3 is almost finished and I have 4 ready to write so they should be out soon.
Also, NaNoWriMo is beginning tomorrow, well actually today, and I’m not taking part in it. Instead, I will spend my November getting Christmas songs and movies and getting into the Christmas mood! Woo!
