ONE REALLY IMPORTANT THING BEFORE I START:
1.
highskyfighter I got your parcel! OMG THANK YOU SO MUCH - It's on my sofa and I AM STARING AT IT WHENEVER I SIT ON IT AND THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU I actually need to go open it and EEEEEEEEEEEE. :)) NOW I NEED TO GO FIND YOU SOMETHING AWESOME!
Aaaand I really really need to make a White Collar post.
1. There've been a bunch of new promos out for White Collar, such as
this one (by way of
White Collar Fixation)
1. AHAHAHAHAHA NEAL SHOVING KELLER UP AGAINST THE WALL, I watch with massive sparkly eyes, because I really like that sort of thing. :DDDDDD
2. That shot of Neal in glasses and the sleeveless shirt: I feel utterly pandered to and manipulated, somehow.
3. Oh, Peter. :( "You gotta be either a con or a man, you can't be both." I've sometimes disliked Peter's very black-and-white view of the world (I've always wondered how he managed to maintain it, working for the FBI for so very long) - other instances include the whole bad cop/good criminal "There's no such thing as a good criminal" business and Peter's incredibly simplistic views on justice - but then again, Peter probably wouldn't be Peter without those views. I still love him, but... yeah.
There was another promo I saw, and I can't seem to find again: it had a shot of Peter arresting Neal for the first time (okay, I am so strange, putting those words together in that order make me go AWWWWWWWWW).
2.
jen_kat (who's been working on the
White Collar music box song)
found the place where you can buy, and the artist who drew, the
one and only White Collar doujinshi out there.
I think that "2 Miles" cover image is lovely! It took a while for my brain to wrap around it because I'm so used to thinking of it in "two-mile radius" terms.
There's a further preview for that doujinshi (other than the one
previously linked on this journal) over in this (not particularly worksafe) other-image heavy doujin sales post
here). (Not Worksafe)
Here's a direct link to the preview image.
3.
I feel compelled to share this .GIF of SHOCKED!Matt Bomer with you.

4. I am terrible and
this Hark! A Vagrant comic REALLY reminded me of White Collar. Up to and in particular, "Handcuff this." And the Bread Crimes Division. And it is a crime to look this good.
5. I WARN YOU THAT WHAT FOLLOWS IS NOTHING BUT NONSENSE.
Sometimes I realise that when I want to talk about my life in relation to White Collar it reads like a horror story of how I have inflicted the show on everyone within my two-mile radius (and then I started expanding said radius).
Assorted RL stories, among them: (1) The Bank Vault Story; (2) the Peter and Neal Squirrels; (3) Family Times
(1) The Bank Vault Story
My office moved this week, which (along with jet lag) does a little to explain my absence. There's been a lot of packing and unpacking, and I can't help feeling like a tiny hamster being moved into a new cage, but there was also this: I walked past a door that looked unusually well-reinforced, and it led to a closed-off, windowless room. I inspected it and noted the security-firm logo above the door (it had massive boltholes in the door-frame). THEN:
Me: I heard today that these floors used to belong to a bank!
Friend: Then this must have been the bank vault!
Me: Absolutely! It explains the incredibly thick walls...
Friend: The peculiar silence inside it, too.
Me: Wow... *walks in and out of the doorway* *repeatedly*
Me: I FEEL LIKE NEAL CAFFREY! \O/
Friend: ... WHAT IS MY LIFE
(2) the Peter and Neal Squirrels
Also, when we were in Sea World in Orlando I saw a Hot Pursuit Squirrel Chase: there was this one squirrel furiously chasing another squirrel - zig-zagging across the walking path, up and round and round a tree trunk and its branches: I was holding my breath watching them, and I'm not even a squirrel! I stopped watching when they vanished behind some leaves, and then, inevitably:
Me: Hee! That was some chase! I think I shall call them Peter and Neal.
Friend: OH GOD WHAT IS MY LIFE, SERIOUSLY
(3) Family Times
Both siblings have returned for the holidays, and this conversation ensued with the youngest one:
Me: So are there any TV shows you would like to recommend to me?
My mom: Oh, you should let her show you our* new show! It's called White Collar.
Sibling: I think I've heard of it...
Me: Really?
Sibling: Is it filmed in Australia?
Me: ... No. (I've never heard that one before.)
*It made me so happy that she called it 'ours'! :)
