(One of the) Things I am looking at at this moment: Ne Yo's Independent Woman MTV. I saw it and was instantly captivated by how it made corporate culture look sexier than it has any right to be (bearing in mind what it is). It's catchy, and it has lines like She made for a boss, soley a boss, anything less - she's telling 'em to get lost. But what really had me grin was the closing scene, which went like this:
her: 'Look, I just wanted to apologise for cutting you off today.'
him: 'It's okay. You are the boss.'
her: 'Is there something I can do to make it up to you?'
him: 'Ah... What did the boss have in mind?'
her: *just - looks at him - with the oh, you look - and smiles*
So it actually has been about half a year since I was wandering around khrdressingroom, and I probably wouldn't have been there save for hitsuuji's rec that there were people worth looking out for. And one of them, in particular, is a TYL!Hibari who is the Vongola Tenth. (The profiles do actually encapsulate the characters beautifully and effectively in very few words) And a Gokudera who serves that Tenth. And a Tsuna (they don't have one yet, but this is his role) who is the Vongola Cloud Guardian. Whom Gokudera describes as the 'little brother I never needed'. Fascinatingly enough, AU!Hibari describes Reborn with two words: 'Tutor - dethroned'. Fascinating world and one I would love to see explored more. Especially the Yamamoto, captured as 'It's always fun and games, even when people are killed'. Kind of leaning towards the kind of TYL!Yamamoto I would have liked very much to see.
Heeeere's Hibari. I think I derived an unusual level of glee from his interaction with Tsuna and how swiftly this Tsuna turned the tables. And there I'd be cheering silently, thinking, Well done you! I really like it when Tsuna shows some spine - and after all, canonically, Hibari was the one who said to Tsuna, effectively - 'Show me that you which thrills me as much as that baby does'.
RP is sometimes even more fun than reading fic, because with RP, you can see a story evolve right before your eyes. You can see narratives that are very much alive, unfolding before you, as new to the characters as they are to you. That's fun. As is reading the OOC comments and knowing that the players are having a good time too. I have always been of the opinion that the RP improves if the players are genuinely having fun.
It's very, very fun to watch that AU Hibari interact with other characters. I must admit that I read this exchange willing Tsuna to bite them both to death. I am of the opinion that future!Tsuna would be exactly the sort of person capable of giving orders in the most sweet, undemanding manner possible, and having them followed to the letter.
Also it was terribly amusing when AU!Gokudera turned up asking for the Decimo and Chrome asked him which one he needed. And it was fun to watch him and the Hibari interact. I do actually think it cute that he calls any Tsuna Tsuna- kun.
Also, hee! I adore this Gokudera's reaction. THERE IS NO PROBLEM that can't be solved with EXPLOSIONS!
One thing I particularly enjoy about khrdressingroom is, quite simply, watching the different Tsunas and Gokuderas interact. For all that I am easily pleased, I have always found it charming to see how different Gokuderas react to different Tsunas - whether they're twenty-one, a girl, or blind. I once described it as ' Tenth devotion can happen between different RPs!' - and it's a little like that, on a broader scale. It helps that the canon relationship between Gokudera and Tsuna makes it easier to initiate player interaction, and happy interaction, at that. It's. A little bit like watching magic, for me. No one needs to tell them what to do. They just do.
Also clearly I am a massive sap and was reading this and melting all over the place. Same Gokudera who wanted to explode Hibari to oblivion first-off just now. I like seeing how Tsuna brings out the tender, gentle side of Gokudera. And I really liked this 'while we're both alive' dialogue. That's the spirit. I have always thought it would have been wonderful for Tsuna and Gokudera to work as equals, for the same purpose. It's there in the anime, but for unity-of-purpose and sheer TAG-TEAM KICKASS AWESOME, canon!Tsuna and Gokudera have yet to to beat the Spanner-and-Tsuna-teamup to GET TO GENKISHI FIGHT THE MILLEFIORE adventure.
I thought this exchange was really sweet, too. Gokudera's looking-at-Tsuna smile should be automatic. Well, canonically!
Speaking of Yamamoto! Check out kaze-tsuki's Five Reasons for Why Yamamoto/Wall = OTP. I was especially fond of at least two of them, and very fond of the others.
