rules for writers
- you must pin down what fandom you will be writing in when you sign up. pairing/plot/etc. are yours to develop in your own time - we only need to fandom so that we can create a list for perspective betas, artists and vidders to consider.
- all forms of media - books, movies, tv, comics, anime/manga, RPFS - are welcomed.
- adult rated stories are welcomed, as long as all parties are above the age of consent in the country you are located in.
- incest is not allowed.
- crossovers are allowed, as long as you can bring a beta with you who is familiar with both canon sources.
- small/obscure fandoms are allowed, as long as you can bring a beta with you who is familiar with the source.
- AU and Uber is allowed, as long as there are recognizable elements from the original canon.
- in the interest of reducing wank, please pm the mod (
thenewhope) if you are interested in writing a genderbender, genderswap, or genderfuck.
- original fiction is not allowed. this is a fanfic challenge, not an original fiction contest.
- once all is said and done at the end of June, completed stories must be at least 15,000 words.
- there's no upper limit, but we're definitely shooting for quality over quantity, so try not to go overboard with word count, especially if it could get in the way of editing and refining.
- if you have a story that is already started but not posted anywhere online, you can work on it for
thelittlebang only if you add at least 15,000 words over the course of the challenge.
- that does not mean you can start writing your story now. work-shopping and plotting and outlining are fine, but please wait until the challenge officially begins before starting to write.
- you must have your story beta read by at least two people before you turn in the completed version.
- stories must have a femslash relationship as their primary focus. het and boyslash relationships can be included as a side element, but the femslash relationship must be the main relationship in the story.
- your femslash couple can get together over the course of the story, or they can be in an established relationship - whatever works for you.
- do not post your story, in its entirety or in pieces, anywhere online until the challenge has been live for a month. this means that you can not post more than a paragraph or two to your journal or other site while you are working on it. (this does not including emailing/sending it to betas, or submitting it to the challenge mods for review/artist assignment in May.)
sign up form-journal name: the name of the journal you will be joining the community with
-pen name: the name you write under and/or your fic journal
-email address: where you can be easily reached. @lj.com is not good enough
-fandom: the fandom you are signing up to write in
-do you have at least one beta you can rely on for this challenge: yes/no
even though we previously said diferently, sign ups for betas/artists/vidders/cheerleaders will not go live until March 1st, when writer sign ups will be closed and we'll have a list of participating fandoms.
let me know if you have any questions, and please pimp the challenge everywhere and anywhere!
