tired of looking on
the bright side
why
must there always be
a spin
on a bad thing

Why can't a bad thing
stay bad
and teach us something
why sugar it up,
why act
like we've been
soiled
by its evil
by its damage

Take the pain
and do
something with it
something meaningful
or reflective
something beautiful
then let it go

I'm tired
of trying to
heal
before I bleed a little
before I cry
before the sorrow
sets in and makes camp

Preventing
pain
only makes us
weak
