Is there a word for this?

I keep noticing the same pattern every now and again, but this time I've finally caught the idea down and am writing about it. Have you ever randomly been exposed to the same unfamiliar thing several times in a short time span? Not like Deja Vu, I'll give some examples. Yesterday I was at a wedding, and I over heard someone say something like "Who is this, Hoobastank? Do they say dirty words? My daughter wants this CD, but I don't know if I should get it.." ok, no big deal there. I'd forget something like that normally, but then this morning checking Yahoo Mail, there was an advertisement for Hoobastank something or other, tickets maybe. Then I heard the word hoobastank again on television. It leaves you wondering, was it always there and i just wasn't paying attention, or is there some ordered reason i'm being subjected to hoobastank all over?

This happened like a month ago with Moulin Rouge. There was one day where it was just Moulin Rouge everywhere. It was on DirecTV, then I got an e-mail ad from deepdiscountdvds and there, on sale, Moulin Rouge.. then someone was looking through one of my yearbooks, and i looked at it quick, there it is, someone's favorite movie: Moulin Rouge.
