Ignorance sucks. Stereotyping (and being stereotyped) is hurtful to the psyche, of both victim and perpetrator.

I love this quote by John Wesley, “The Gospel of Christ knows no religion, but social; no holiness but social holiness.” As a Christian, you can do no greater thing than to find an empty soul sitting on an empty bench, and occupy their heart with words and action while you occupy the bench with them. True evangelizing means reaching out with your time, energy and talent to spread your soul onto another. Not in the name of God verbally, but in the name of God spiritually. “Preach the Word of God at all times, but use words only when necessary ( ... )

How do you think people can help open the eyes of the ignorant that have not or will not consider other's points of view? I agree that it is wrong to make someone believe something because someone else does, but everyone should be aware of others perspectives and situations without being defensive as many are when something like this comes up.

People that will not consider other's points of view are guilty of being ignorant themselves. The ignorant leading the ignorant is like the blind leading the blind: eventually both will fall into the ditch.
(Taken from above) Everyone will be different in their beliefs and opinions. And if you don't learning from an Atheist-a Jew-a Muslim-a Buddhist-a Christian-etc. because of their beliefs, than you yourself are being intentionally ignorant of the world around you. Everyone is an individual, but yet we are all connected. And no matter how many Jehovah Witnesses walk the planet, everyone will never believe the same way about God. This is good. People need differences to gain appreciation of each other.
