Legends of Tomorrow

Oh man, that brings back the memories.

And this kinda just feels like fanservice, doesn't it?

In fact a lot of the structure of Legends of Tomorrow reminds me a bit of AU fic fanservice. Ie watch our characters travel to the 70 and dress up like hippies, watch them travel to the Wild West and dress up as cowboys or to Soviet Russia to end up in a gulag and KGB uniforms.

I'm still not really sure if I would recommend it randomly as a show. It is still a superhero show, so it has its share of cheese, particularly in the action scenes. I think for any Prison Break fan, Dominic's role Heatwave would probably feel very abrasive. Not only is he pretty much a badguy, I feel his character is so far intentionally minimalist. It works for the show/setting, but I can see why from a fan POV it wouldn't give one much to hold on to. Wentworth's character Captain Cold fares a bit better by comparison.

I do find the characters from the team likable so far. I think Canary so far gives me the most vibes of getting a consistent arc. And it's interesting that Victor Garber's Firestorm also has gotten decent chunks of characterization in the episodes so far. (maybe a smart person in the background picking the people who they see as the strongest actors)
