the sweetest melody is the one we haven't heard

So Colin and I drove down to Chicago on Saturday for the U2 concert.

We got in around noon. I'd sent reeni928 a facebook message asking if she wanted to meet up, but she was working all day, so Colin and I stopped by her work for lunch. It was really awesome to finally meet her! <3 She's even prettier in person than she is in her pictures. :)

Afterward, we went back to the hotel, where our room was finally ready. And then we took the long way about getting ready for the concert, then walked over to Soldier Field.

The concert was AMAZING!!! It was, as Colin kept reminding me, my first "real" concert. I wasn't sure what to expect, since my previous experience consisted of boy bands and Britney. What would a concert without coordinated dances and outfit changes look like? LIKE PURE AWESOMENESS is what.

First, Snow Patrol opened. I like their music, but didn't know much about them as a band. I love them now! Their lead singer is ADORABLE! I had so much fun and they played all my favourite songs and it totally warmed me up and got me even more excited than I had been.

U2 was also ridiculously awesome. The only disappointing part was the people around us. Hard to believe that in a football stadium where everyone was on their feet the whole show, the only people who weren't were the people directly in front of us, directly to the left of us and directly behind us. It kind of killed the energy a bit. I don't know, I found it distracting. And because the floor wasn't completely full and we were so close to the front, it sometimes felt like we were all alone at the concert. And I don't want to feel like I'm alone at a concert; I want to feel like I'm a part of something bigger.

But still, U2 was amazing. Their remix of I'll Go Crazy if I Don't Go Crazy Tonight was fantastic. I looooved this version of With or Without You. And this was probably the most moving version of Walk On I've ever heard. And there were a bunch of songs that I think are just okay on cd, but live became amazing, like Vertigo and Unknown Caller. And the big surprise of the night for me was how much I loved their performance of Elevation. That was the moment where I started to get really pumped up and into it.

So, yeah, I loved it.

Now I'm faced with a dilemma!! Colin has tickets to the Toronto show on Thursday night. FLOOR TICKETS. I want to go so bad. The problem is that the Law Orientation Boat Cruise is that night. I had a blast last year, and I imagine I'll have even more fun now that I actually have friends. Also, I may have slightly peer pressured some of my friends into going. If I don't go to the boat cruise, I need to try and sell my ticket by Thursday.

Tell me what to do!!!
