Saw the new Superman movie today. And was disappointed, I must admit. Shoulda listened to RottenTomatoes.com (which gave it a less-than-favorable 57%) and waited for the DVD.
The SFX were great, but there were too many fight/action sequences and they went on and on and on, way too long. I actually looked at my watch about 3 times, wondering if it was time to go yet.
I was hoping for a good popcorn movie, something to take my mind off real world stuff, but it wasn't even that.
*sigh* I liked Henry Cavill in The Tudors. And I’m a fan of other cast members: Russell Crowe, Kevin Costner, Diane Lane, Amy Adams, Christopher Meloni, Michael Shannon & Lawrence Fishburne.
But TBH… I didn’t care about any of the characters. There was no emotional connection. I’m sure they spent millions on the SFX. I just wish they had spent more on the script.
And less time on product placement. Geez, it was like watching a commercial at times
However….
The best part of being in the theatre today….
Seeing the trailers for THE HOBBIT: THE DESOLATION OF SMAUG and THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE on a huge screen….!!!!
OMG, can’t wait until December 13 and November 22 !!!
