My work phone has died. It worked on Monday.
No dial tone and no little lights, although other phones plugged into the line work. It's not the handset or the cable to it as we tried others of those. The batteries (which it doesn't need) are fine. I tried phoning my mobile to see if it was just the sound and nothing happened.
So I doubt it's fixable. Now I get to deal with all the joy of ordering a new phone and justifying why I can't use the standard work ones (they have a stash of allegedly amplified phones, but given I had to ask the telecoms guy if there was a dial tone, that ain't going to work). I'll take it home to Conflux and see what he can do, if anything.
Ironically I now have a textphone that would function except it needs 4 AA batteries. And telecoms don't provide them. I'll take some in tomorrow, as ordering them via stationery will take bloody forever.
I've also been supplied with a laptop, and now have to defend my need for my desktop as well. The laptop comes with a docking station and is so heavy it's just as well it also came with a rucksack as otherwise I'd never get it up the stairs. No way am I taking both home for home working!
