The Year without Underwear Perverts Savings Plan

Mar 12, 2008 13:16

Just looking over this weeks new releases for comic books. All I see that I should have in my pull folder is Evil Dead #3 and The Goon #22. The YWoUP has also become a much needed relief to my pocketbook as well.
Now if only gas would get cheaper, as it is I am driving over 30 miles to go get comics. I could go to the slightly closer (only 20 miles!) store, but I never trusted those guys very much. Mostly it is because they change owners ever few years and all that. Then there was the two months they closed down cause they didn't pay taxes... I am surprised the place is still open really. It seems to be getting increasingly harder to find a good local comic shop. Hell, it is getting difficult to even locate a shitty comic shop.

It makes it even worse when I heard that the long standing Fantasy Limited store in Owensboro, KY had closed up shop. Another small town that has to drive out of the way to enjoy a simple pleasure.

Who's at fault? The companies? The readers? The stores? The market? The economy (okay that was just grabbing for straws with that one, but it does make the situation worse these days)? Thekamisama?

I figure it might just be that last one, I never did trust that guy....
