Controversy in the Comic Rack! OMG!

In the valley of the nerds, there is a bit of controversey over the new solicitation for the Cover of Marvel Comics 'Heroes for Hire' Issue number 13.

Lot's of tossing around the words "Tentacle Rape" and blasting fanboys for sexism over a comic that, frankly, is one of Marvel's lower tier books. If the majority of fanboys were sexist, this book would be a top seller. Thanks to the controversy, it just might be a best seller for one issue.

Does anyone outside fringe comic book readers, hentai manga/anime fans, and a few internet perverts, even know what the hell "Tentacle Rape" is?

My take is that it is a pretty fucking sexist bondage cover. It is certainly not a rape cover. Also, the implication of "Tentacle Rape" slightly damns the critics as it proves that the critics have a knowledge of a pornographic sub-subgenre in the first place.

While they are at it, can they also look into this?

Or maybe sexism/bondage imagery/sexual fetishism on the cover of a comic book is okay, so long as it is based on the vampire erotic literature of a best selling female author?
