RENT TOMORROW NIGHT!

Nov 05, 2006 22:04

Today I gave into the consumer commercialism Mr. Gelman warned us about in AP History. I spent $100.00 on a pair of mini UGGS. That price seems a bit ridiculous; that and the fact that I bought something at the capitalist enterprise known as Nordstrom for the first time in my life.

I feel used. I feel like a pawn. I want that feeling of socialist superiority that the Wife of Bath talks about in "The Canterbury Tales." I want to control what I do and what I don't do.

Wow, I sound bitter. Nothing that a yearbook workshop at Columbia cannot cure. Especially if I can eat in their Ugandinese? Ugandan? themed kosher restaurant.
