One of my favourite things.

After you've showered, instead of taking that dreadfully cold step out of the warm water I like to turn up the heat. I turn up the heat and crumble down in the shower, hook my fingers beneath my collar bone and curl up into a ball. There is something strangely comforting about that. To feel your fingers around your bone, to feel how your own skeleton supports your arm, in more ways than one. How all is connected, from water to body to self.

And as you sit in that ball of comfort and complete awareness, of your body and your self, you realise there are no thoughts you cannot handle. All those things that frightened or worried you on the outside suddenly lose their edge. Fear doesn't exist while you're in that zone.

Better yet, as you sit there, as you allow yourself to ponder that which usually scares you, you gain strength and understanding. It produces solutions where there was only anxiety.

Making that moment one of my favourite things.
