Thoughts on 2.07 'Fae Gone Wild'

I've been dying to find out the truth behind Lauren's past live and have to say it is sort of predictable. The actual scene, however, brings out wonderful acting from both Zoie and Anna. It was heartbreaking and And the 'hand of glory' idea was quite awesome (although quite gruesometo make). I've been repeating the last few minutes of this episode numerous times if only to enjoy the wonderful chemistry/angst between Bo and Lauren. Few thoughts on this episode...

The key to save Nadia
Like Bo said: 'What the hell is that supposed to be?'
A. the Morrigan's nail file.
B. dried Seniatta bone, painted black for artistic purposes. Courtesy of Evony Fleurette Marquise.
C. an actual key to unlock the chamber of secret where Nadia lies.
D. Lauren, remember that time in Congo when....

Random thoughts throughout doccubus moments.
- Hawt Fae-way to break a criminal out of a police station. They should do it more often on a tv show.
- Anna Silk is a sexy bartender. And the lap dance is a bonus. Even Kenzi feels the heat!
- Haven't seen Bo feeding in a while (by that I mean for the entire episode). That sex with dr.Lewis must've supercharged her :)
- ZP's superb acting. That emotion-choked 'oh' when Bo confronts Lauren about Nadia to me shows just how torn she was inside about the whole ordeal.
- Now we know that Bo's someone that Lauren 'cares about' whereas Nadia still retains her girlfriend status even after 5 years in a coma :(
- Love the intense moments where Bo and Lauren were teary and heartbroken without tears spilled.
- The look on Bo's face as Lauren tells her about her Congo trip with Nadia was heartbreaking and poignant. Yet, she encouraged Lauren to continue and seemed to offer sharing Lauren's burden- by asking to open the box together. Oh Bo!! You do have a big, huge heart!

More theories about Nadia's coma state:
The people that got sick in the village were Fae, and Nadia for some reason is the only human that got terribly ill. This episode was centered around a Fae who didn't have any knowledge of her true nature as a Selkie, or a seal-shifter. More information on the legend here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Selkie.

If tonight's episode's theme was any hint, Nadia quite possibly is a a Light fae who hasn't yet realized her true identity.
As discussed elsewhere, the old Ash didn't put much value on humans life. Why put so much effort putting Nadia on a cryo-stasis chamber if she is one? Plus, Lauren mentioned the old Ash happened to be in Congo at the time. Strikes me as odd that in the midst of a raging disease outbreak the *leader* of light fae put himself in such a great risk. Anyone who's seen 'Contagion' or any other apocalyptic movies would know that in these situations, the authorities will get the president and other important people *away* from ground zero or approaching disaster.

Which leads me to another theory - what if Nadia is related to the Ash or some high ranking Fae elders, or what if she had a dangerous/powerful fae ability? Any of these would make her qualified of being 'saved' by the Ash. We never heard about what happened of the other sick patients, but doesn't seem like any of them were placed in a coma state just to be cured from the disease...

If we're going down the route that the Ash was a scheming bastard...
Perhaps Nadia took photos that could expose Fae's existence to human amidst the raging disease, and if faes can't kill humans legally then what better to put her in a coma state to prevent such scandal? Just as the Morrigan in previous episode forced to personally interfered in affairs threatening to expose Fae's existence, the Ash perhaps, had been in similar position, and that could be the reason why he was conveniently in Congo. Also if the Ash needed help to cure this outbreak, Lauren was the perfect person to have. She was uber smart (as if we didn't know already), and in a vulnerable position. Given the choice, there's no way she could refuse the sweet deal of saving her girlfriend and learning more about the Fae world. Killing two birds with one stone - done.

Hmm this turns out to be a very long post.
Anyways I hope Lauren's back next episode, seeing that things have gotten difficult with her limited yard time.
Till next time!
