R just sent me this link to a Poop House. He thinks it's gross but I think it's kind of cool. It's a house that seems to have a hollow structure and as the years go by, is insulated with the bio-waste produced from inside the house ( Read more... )

My entire 2nd worm bin died! It was so sad. Also, not that any animal is pretty when it dies but these poor dudes are a little more moist than most so it was kind of disgusting. I have picked up dead kittens and half-alive cats (and birds when I was younger -- I had a thing for proper burials) that were far more gross but still ( Read more... )

I think I put in too much citrus stuff in my 2nd bin. One bin is thriving and the other wasn't producing as much compost. I realized later in the week when I went to refill their food that the low-compost one had dead soggy worms on one side.

THIS IS SO LAME.

I am totally bummed.
