After having missed the match against Italy for more important matters (and really, who knew?) I was not going to miss the match against France. The world was conspiring against me, with emergencies at work and buses that didn't show up. I made it however and I was well rewarded. France played well but they couldn't cut it against the power of the lowlands. It was not just a win, it was a spectacularly beautiful match. Neither team had much to be ashamed of but, as these things go, only one could be winner. The dutch just seem to have found their rhythm. No one believed it but coach Marco van Basten (he won as a player in '88) has delivered. I don't normally get excited about football...but this was the game at its best with my favorite team at its best. This tournament can only get better!
