My dad, the tender loving caring man that he is, wasted no time in pointing out to me that I broke my New Year's Resolution in what had to be a record setting pace.
It is NOT my fault that New Year's fell on a freaking Friday this year. That's just not fair, man.

Neil Gaiman posted a comment on his blog earlier today concerning his German shepherd which, while I'm certain sounded beautifully simplistic and poetic, makes this five time dog owner and pre-vet dog trainer snort in her before-bedtime-tea.
Dear Mr. Gaiman; your dog is so far removed from anything resembling "wolfish ancestors" that it's nearly like comparing toadstools to horses. He is in no way "put in mind" of anything resembling wolfy-ness, he's counting the days until he finally manages to catch that elusive squirrel (stupid beast! it cheats by climbing trees and flying! That's just not fair!). Also, if it is ANY where as cold where you are as it is here, I'd slap you for walking your dog in those prolonged temperatures.
Err, prolonged walk in those temperatures? Obviously I'm quite tired.

Is it really Tuesday? January fifth? Honestly? Where has this time flowed? (Err, flown? Something. I am currently unaware of the proper past tense of the verb 'flow.' Ridicule may commence.)
Egads. I must be blanking out and living a separate life for half this time. Maybe I'm a pirate, or a ferry (wo)man, or a crime-fighting non-superhero superhero who defeats her enemies with mad fencing skillz.
Today I made bunny cookies with my father, responded to a work e-mail in such a manner that I got an apology from a sub-boss, treated my mother to Italian cream cake, cooked my parents dinner and snuggled with two dogs, one of which is on my feet and the other fighting the computer for attention.
Last week I bought three pairs of shoes at once (which is more shoes than I've purchased in the last four years combined), went to Hannibal MO and only realized after I LEFT that I could have met up with an old friend, met up with another old friend who treated me to her company of Sherlock Holmes (yessssss), and something else that I can't quite remember.
Tomorrow, I will;
-Work on other Grad Apps
- Clean a bit
- Play with dogs
- Write about either Sherlock Holmes, my Honors, or Coffee
- Do a bit of brainstorming and a bit of writing for myself and in so completing at least three of the above,
- Remind myself that it's good to be alive.
