oh dear god.  The US population just elected ANOTHER idiot for twelve years straight.  I think we can officially rival Mexico. Or Zimbabwe.

One who wants to bankrupt one of the largest industries we have left, and thus make us even more enslaved for foreign energy sources...
...and who think welfare states of huge populations actually work...AND ( Read more... )

Obama was far more popular than McCain on the international stage. Foreigners are more concerned with Iraq than domestic issues, naturally.

You wanted Clinton to win? Is that a joke? Her platform is the mirror image of Obama's.

Even if McCain had won, I'd still wait until he actually started running the country to see whether or not he'd be a good President.

As for being a libertarian, America is not the place for you. I can guarantee that you'll be always disappointed in your country, no matter who gets elected.

Will America end under Obama? No. Will your life radically change in the next four years? Nope, and mine won't either.

Funny, I've always been able to be a libertarian and yet still be proud of my country. >.> Be careful what you try to guarantee.

If you take things in their context, I'm talking about who gets elected. Every libertarian I know, and have read about, is disappointed in the results. They are usually disappointed when Republicans are elected too.

Foreigners could actually not give a DAMN about Iraq, and not all of them are gleeful that Obama won, actually. My labour-loving cousins in Ireland are groaning over this, France is having a spitting contest, and Germany is split 30-30-30 between people who want to cry, people who are happy, and people who don't give a damn. In fact, the only people I can think about who were happy are the Asian island groups, Maylasia and China--all mostly social-democrat in nature--Iran, Syria and whatever M.E. nation it was that declared Nov. 5 a NATIONAL HOLIDAY, and Hugo Chavez. Who also claims responsibility for starting the "wave of change!!" that has "continued to sweep our northern neighbors ( ... )

We must be looking at different polls then, because I've seen overwhelming support for Obama overseas. Not only because he's not of Bush's party, but because he's Black. A Black dude leading the free world -- quite the image, you must admit. You could spin this to say that I voted for Obama simply because he's Black, but hopefully you think I'm smarter than that ( ... )
