everyone was screaming and clapping

Corporations wanted to reward citizens who voted with junk food.  I heard that (at least around here) with my sticker, I could get:
-free donut at Tim Horton's
-free french fries at Tom Wahl's
-free coffee at Starbucks
-free ice-cream at Ben & Jerry's

I had this fantasy where I just went from franchise to franchise collecting this free stuff and then brought it all home, not necessarily to eat it all, but to sit around with the free stuff.  But I had to go to work, and I did not want to waste gas.  Before work though, I had time to get the free fries.

French Fries:  Normally, the cost is $2.56.  Not worth it!  They were gross and bland, but I ate them because they were free.

I went to Starbucks and Tim Horton's on my way home from work.

Coffee:  I couldn't find it on the menu to see how much it costs, but I'll guess a small coffee (er, I mean "tall") is about $6.15.  It tasted fine, but I'm not about to go to Starbucks again.

Donut:  I was told that in order to get the free donut, I had to get a medium coffee.  I said I just got a coffee, and I left.

It would have been awesome to get the ice-cream, but that was a limited promotion from 5-8pm, so it would have been impossible to go.  Also it's not worth the gas money to drive to Pittsford.

When I got home from work, Caitlin and I went to Equal=Grounds where we met Amy, Arthur, Dan, April, and Betsy.  It was packed in there, and they had coverage on the big screen TV.  The TV was on loud, but people were being loud; it was also on closed captions.  I couldn't read most of the captions because it was so crowded around the TV, but suddenly everyone was screaming and clapping and I knew it was a good thing.
Hooray!
