Book 12

The Graveyard Book - Neil Gaiman.  I didn't want to like this book.  I'm opposed, on several grounds, to children's books being set in graveyards (and the ghosts were my least favorite part of Harry Potter).  But I had to like it.  It was an homage to The Jungle Book.  It was very well written (this is my first work by Neil Gaiman).  He handled the difficult parts (murder) off-stage and in such a way to offend as little sensibilities as possible.  It was new and different.  One tiny quibble - did this all have to be because of a prophecy?  I was sad to say good-bye to Bod, and his mysterious guardian, Silas.
