Toro Sketches from Artists at Comic Con

Jul 29, 2009 11:19

I took a sketch book with me to comic con and basically went around getting as many artist to give me a sketch as I could afford (or who would for free, which a surprising number would do a doodle free of charge!)

My Character Theme for this con was Toro Raymond, and all I can say is THANK GOD I had a photo reference *L*

Warning: Image heavy
Sketches By: Mark McHaley, Nathan Fox, Bill Reinhold , Melissa Uran, Phillip Moy, Colleen Coover, Steve Epting, Reilly Brown, Joe Phillips, Gregg Schigiel, Chris Giarrusso, Dennis Calero, Steve Leialoha, Gattadonna, JE Loranzo, John Watkins-Chow, Jack Katz, and Bill Tucci )

These sketches are so cool! It's interesting to see different takes on the character, not to mention that Toro generally needs more artist love. Thanks a lot for sharing! :D

Glad you enjoyed! I had a blast collecting them ^__^
And yeah it was very interesting seeing all the artist's interpret him, especially since they pretty much all had the same All Winner's reprint to look at!

And yes, he needs far more artistic love. I'm devestated to find out the cruddy artist that worked on Avengers/Invaders will also be involved in he The Human Torch re-launch (there were two artists Sadowski who did pretty well, and Berkenkotter who caused people to drop the book on account of bad art, so NOT HAPPY he is on the Human Torch comic *twitch*)

Well, hopefully, since he's back now, he'll be appearing in far more comics then just the Torch! I'll be surprised if he doesn't startle Buck in Captain America any time soon.

Geez. I knew I was behind, but I thought for sure I had commented on these. They are FANTASTIC! I'm green with envy. :) I mean, Steve Leialoha?!?! He's a legend. I didn't know that about Jack Katz. Coolness!

Love Mel's Torch! And John Watkins Chow and Chris Giarusso. Again, a great collection!
