Notre Dame Cathedral
Yesterday, something extraordinarily bad occurred. The beautiful, ancient Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris was badly damaged in a fire. I had just about every reaction to this. Two cute things in baby land
This afternoon, Danny was crying and nothing I tried was getting him to stop. He did start to look across the room at our cat Ivy, and that seemed to help. I called Ivy over, and she came an sat on the pillow next to us. She looked at him; he looked at her. He stopped crying. What a good, helpful cat she is. Relationship Math
At family Thanksgiving #1 last Sunday, someone there pointed out that it was an anniversary of sorts for Stephen and I. The first time he had met my dad's side of the family was that Thanksgiving party, at the same restaurant, 4 years earlier. 200 Years
Today was Homecoming and UM and a very special one. The University was founded in 1817, 200 years ago. 350 band alumni joined the current marching band at halftime to celebrate. It was a very early morning, with rehearsal starting at 7:40 AM. This meant our lunch break started at 9:30 AM and back to our places by 10:50 AM. A bit hectic for my taste ( Read more... ) -

It was my friend Jenn's wedding rehearsal. She and her fiancee decided to walk into the church together instead of just the bride walking down the aisle. Fr. Mike walked up, and they asked him how they enter that way. Without a completely neutral face and tone, he says, "Cartwheels." -
An unusual drive
I feel like I haven't been able to post anything like this in a long time, file it under random minutiae of life. My husband and I were driving to a wedding last Friday. I didn't expect this at all
There is an old abandoned business not far from where I live. I have driven by it countless times. I had it in my mind that it was an old waterpark. I was sure I had seen a sign on it stating that was the story, but as I passed by over months, I began to question myself. Where had I seen a sign saying that? Was I just making it up in my mind? 4 Years Done
On the first day of this month, I graduated from the Catholic Biblical School of Michigan. After 4 years of reading assignments and homework, I am done, and relieved.
