This afternoon, Danny was crying and nothing I tried was getting him to stop. He did start to look across the room at our cat Ivy, and that seemed to help. I called Ivy over, and she came an sat on the pillow next to us. She looked at him; he looked at her. He stopped crying. What a good, helpful cat she is. This is not the first time she has tried to help. Often when he is crying, she will come and meow to seemingly make sure we know or come around seemingly wanting to help, a far cry from how she ran away when we first brought Danny home.
Danny was no doubt irritable today because he would not nap for anything. I got him through most of his bedtime routine and was offering him one more bottle. He got most of the way through it and started getting drowsy. I stopped feeding him to put him to bed but had to burp him first. While I was still patting his back burping him, he put his head down to my chest asleep. Now that's tired! I couldn't help but laugh a little bit. He did wake up a couple of times when I tried to put him in his bassinet, but still!
