I received an email from a paleontologist today

A new species of dinosaur, Appalachiosaurus montgomeriensis, was named last week, though Dr. David Schwimmer has been working with the bones of the early tyrannosaurid for over twenty years now. I emailed him asking under what genus and species they had been labeled while on display for the past several years, and he responded within the hour informing me that he had originally listed it under Albertosaurus, a relative of Tyrannosaurus.

Coincidentally, David Schwimmer shares his name with the actor that portrayed Ross, the paleontologist on Friends.
