Some of us think bats are cute, I was pleased to discover that the man who wrote & illustrated Bats at the Library feels similarly. Mr. Lies makes sure that the proceeds from his web-winged capers go to benefit the real things that go flap in the night, so I encourage you to check out his books as well!

Basically, I guess the artist just meant it to be cute. and I'm too analytical.^^;
