Some of us think bats are cute, I was pleased to discover that the man who wrote & illustrated Bats at the Library feels similarly. Mr. Lies makes sure that the proceeds from his web-winged capers go to benefit the real things that go flap in the night, so I encourage you to check out his books as well!

WHAT WENT INTO MAKING ICONS:
First I painstakingly scanned the pages, then reduced each in size, cropped suitable images, played with them in photoshop (while maintaining the integrity of source art and attempting a variety of interesting styles), some are discarded in a final analysis, the chosen are labeled, uploaded to photobucket at a fee per month to keep them available, arranged tastefully into a table, and meticulously organized into a post for sharing. All this followed by massive pimping to inform of their existence.
It is fun, but it's also a lot of work!
Therefore, if you enjoy an icon, it's a very nice way to say "thank you" just by crediting the maker (and/or the original artist). I've admired icon makers since I arrived at LiveJournal, and gotten to know many bloggers through this tiny and free form of artistic manipulation, but specifically wanted to offer a slightly different brand than what is usually available. Rather than ego, it is the hope of making a friend that the request for credit stems from -- for others, as well of myself, in search of those elusive connections.
Thank you.
