Regrouping

It's New Year's Eve already. It sucks that it falls in the middle of a week this year. I plan to work Eve and Day, which limits the party-hopping I can do. Of the 4 places I know I can be, I'll probably end up at two.

I've been worrying too much lately. I've been staying in by myself too much, and working too hard (no big surprise). I constantly feel tired.

I hope to remedy all of this in the new year. I am getting more exercise, thanks to a pedometer. I'm reconnecting with friends I haven't seen in a while, and getting out more.

My high school drama department had a reunion on Saturday. Unbeknownst to me, Mahoney and red-headed Kate are now married, and Kate is a Scadian heavy weapons fighter in line for the Ponte Alto Baroney. Way to go Kate! I am definitely getting involved with Ponte Alto now, even if they don't have a thrown weapons marshall. Along that vein, the baronial calendar has an all-day revel/pot-luck/dance on Saturday. I'm hoping to go with Sheldon before we head over to his parent's place for his birthday dinner. Sheldon's parents are awesome, and I enjoy every time I am there. They teach martial arts, his mom is retired armed forces and sings, and his dad is a jazz drummer. Last time I was there a jam session broke out. :-)

Christmas was quiet. Mom's making leaps and bounds with her at home recovery, but not pushing herself too hard. We watched a lot of classical performances, including an untranslated Austrian concert on Mhz7(?). The conductor was a stitch, the band had bit sight gags, and the audience was singing along, drinking, and dancing in the streets. I particularly liked their rendition of O, Fortuna.

I will be baking in the new year. I just got an edge brownie pan, so all the brownie squares will have at least one edge.

Zach's over at Rob+Allison's today helping them get ready for their New Year's party. I'm heading there first, and ending up at the Skiffy party well before midnight to see as many people as possible.
