Betterish

Mom's doing better. She has the energy to complain and order us around and to walk on her own again. Nothing tastes right, she itches, the nurses don't respond to the call button fast enough. She should be coming home on Tuesday.

Zach's taking to A+ certification exam hopefully next weekend.

I have the tree up and halfway decorated, and Listened to the Boston Camerata CD Sing We Noel (strangely enough, not an actual song on the CD)- Christmas Music from England and Early America, directed by Joel Cohen. I listened to the record every Christmas growing up, and the songs tend to be a little obscure but very lively, and for the most part lack the insipidness of some later Christmas music. One song is still a bit preachy though. It still pisses me off that they left out the Gabriel's Prophecy track from the beginning of the record. They left in the instrumental leading up to it, and pulled the actual singing. Who's bright idea was that? It's absence irritates me every time I hear the CD.

I've found myself slightly discontent with music in general today. I finally accessed discrevolt.com to download some tracks of an artist Skittles and I saw perform at the Black Cat a while back. There's plenty to choose from, but some of his newer stuff that he played at the concert is missing, and I can only find studio tracks of it, not the acoustic versions that have the power I appreciated in concert. Sometimes the studio arrangement not only not add to the tracks, but actually detract from the elements I enjoyed so much in concert.
