Why Did It Have To Be You
Chapter 24: Thank You (Part 2)
Dong Hae felt a lot better after consuming everything that Yoona had prepared for him.
Though he still needed some more rest, Dong Hae believed that he was strong enough already.
Besides, all he really needed was care.
Returning from the kitchen, Yoona entered Dong Hae’s room with a pill and a glass of water in her hands.
“Here’s your medicine, sir.”
Yoona joked as she handed the pill to Dong Hae.
All he could do was smile in reply.
“If feel better now, Nurse Im.”
Dong Hae joked after he successfully took in the medicine.
“Really? Well, that means I’m doing a good job.”
Yoona played along, smiling.
She sat back down the chair after.
“You better run, run, run, run, run”
Yoona’s cell phone rang.
The caller ID read: Kwon Yuri
“Yobosaeyo?”
Yoona answered.
“Ya! Im Yoona! Where are you? We’ve been worried sick, you know.”
Yuri said, trying to be mad.
But, of course, Yoona wouldn’t take her seriously, anyways.
“Sorry, Yul. I’m at SJ’s dorm right now.”
Yoona replied.
“SJ’s dorm? What are you doing there?”
Yuri asked.
A few milli seconds later,
“Oh.. Nevermind.”
Yuri said, knowing of what had happened.
“Just call me when you’re about to get home, okay? I’ll tell the unnies you’re at SJ’s dorm right away so that they won’t be worried anymore.”
She added.
“Yeah, you can do that.”
Yoona said.
“Okay, then. See you later. Bye..”
Yuri’s goodbye was of course, the cutest.
“Was that Yuri on the phone?”
Dong Hae asked.
“Yeah, it was. How did you know?”
Yoona wondered.
Dong Hae just smiled.
“Her voice is, well, kind of loud when she’s on the phone.”
He said.
Yoona beamed widely as she agreed with that.
She couldn’t hide the fact that it was true.
After a quick happy conversation, there was a moment of silence.
Only Dong Hae and Yoona’s breathing could be heard.
Usually, this would signal an awkward moment between the both of them, but this kind of silence brought a different kind of feeling.
How Yoona hated to break this serene moment, but she knew that she had to say this.
“Oppa, I’m so sorry..”
Yoona said.
Dong Hae already knew why she was saying sorry.
All he did was raise his shoulders and breathe heavily in reply.
“That’s life.”
He said.
“But you know what, I’m still hurt. Really hurt.”
Dong Hae added.
Yoona looked at his pained expression and regretted bringing up the topic.
Now, instead of thinking of happier things, Dong Hae was going to dwell on the past.
And that was really bad.
“I don’t understand why she did that to me.”
Dong Hae said, frowning.
“I gave her everything, Yoona. Wasn’t that enough?”
He added.
No matter how much Yoona wanted to comfort him, she just didn’t know what to say.
And besides, she wasn’t in the right place to give Dong Hae advice, since first of all, she hasn’t even been in a relationship yet.
“I’m tired, Yoona. I really am.”
Dong Hae said as he shook his head.
He wasn’t just tired physically, but he was too, emotionally.
“I just can’t look at Jessica right now without feeling any regret.”
He added.
“But oppa, you can’t just end your relationship like this.”
Yoona said.
She was right, actually.
The way HaeSica ended their relationship was pretty abrupt.
I mean, what if Super Junior and Girls’ Generation were to guest in some variety show and this “issue” between Dong Hae and Jessica would hinder them to act like themselves?
Oh, man..
It would be such a big issue not only among their celebrity friends and eagle-eyed netizens but also between the ELFs and the Sones.
Though Dong Hae hated to admit it, he did have to fix things up with his ex.
Things would get more complicated if he didn’t.
“You’re right, Yoona. Jessica and I do have to clear things up and break things off in a way that we’ll both know the reason why our relationship just couldn’t work..”
Dong Hae said
“But, as of now, seeing her face just gives me.. pain.”
He added.
Yoona knew were Dong Hae was coming from.
He just broke up with Jessica.
All the pain and the hurt were still inside him, and as of the moment, it was indeed hard for him to reconcile with her.
“Okay, oppa. I understand. Let’s just give it some more time.”
