What the hell. Last friday night I went out with a few friends. Started the night at Slick's with Tom, Eric and Joel at Slick's. After wards, headed out to Crabapples with Rachel and three of her friends. Good times, I was not drinking very much. I went out to my truck to get my cellphone, I had keys in hand. I wake up in an ambulance. Hmm. Not so awesome. Apparently, they came out looking for me and found me laying next to my truck and called nine-eleven. I was taken to Kenmore-Mercy hospital where I was made to believe that I was a pin-cushion. Afterwards, they pronounced me alive and set me home. This was 9:21am as stated by my release papers. I was given a ride back to my truck by a kindly officer, and I drove home. I was half-dead. I went to sleep until 4:00pm when I had to pick up Patrick at the airport. I was thinking none of this work business, I had been to the hospital, right? I was supposed to work 12-8:30 that paticular Saturday. The wonderful corporate masters say that because I had left the hospital before my shift, I should have been present for work. They wrote me up, and I was awarded with eight hours of un-approved unpaid time. I lose bonus for the month and seniority for the next shift bid. I went to my doctors yesterday to find out how broken I am, and he gave me a release note for work that fateful Saturday. This is not good enough, apparently.
This is the thanks I get for not having a single attendance issue in almost three years. I love my job.
