3 years ago it was filled with tons of life and the spirit. You could see and hear students shouting at the top of their lungs from one classroom to another. You would find students loitering arnd the corridors, hanging out in the canteen even when recess is a far cry past its time. Any sort of delinquent act, you name it, we have it. Little spots of blue & white, we would paint town and areas near IJ with our loud voices you cannot miss. Somehow we were never embarrassed abt it too? Even when it was dated back to my mommy's time...
Yet to my disappointment, i stood at the once familiar gates of IJ feeling strange and lost. As i walked along the corridors, everything seemed blurry and sadly dead. Did i mistake this place for my sch, i thought. At 3pm you'd find the canteen, classrooms, corridors, even the mini track & field empty. I could count the number of students and teachers in the sch compound with my fingers. A ghost town lacking the IJ spirit it was. Maybe you can blame it on the current H1N1 situation but no Nor corrected my judgement. Apparently it has been in such a state since 2 years back. That's how sad IJ has become.
Is it the management of the school or is it just the generation of kids today that head back home right after lessons end for the day? Doesn't help if IJ considers Normal Tech anytime soon. It's just gonna change the status of the once prestigious sch. It's no different than a neighbourhood sch is it? No offence and i don't look down on any neighbourhood sch but i personally feel IJ isn't the same anymore.
