I got an email letting me know I got accepted to Chicago-Kent on Friday afternoon right before I left work. Woohoo for me! That's the law school Dan went to, it would be so funny if I ended up going there too, I joked to him that when I graduated we would be married and he would get to put my hood on me (when you graduate law school they put a hood on your robe when you walk across the stage and Kent has spouses/parents who also went to Kent put the hood on their related graduate-its too cute). Now I am just waiting for the letter from them to see if they gave me any money.
I also got my acceptance letter from UC Hastings on Monday so I am currently 3 for 3 which is pretty good. I have now officially been accepted to 1/3 of the schools that I applied to.
Now I wait for all my top tier schools to pass their judgment. I just need to make sure I do my taxes and my FAFSA and fill out my financial aid forms by the end of the week so that I have a good shot at that too.
Last weekend was a bit of a bust in terms of productivity but this weekend is going to be great because I have nothing planned. Dan wanted to invite some friends of ours over to smoke ribs but it turns out that one of our friends is going on a diet. This thrilled me to no end since I don't eat meat and I told him to let them know we'd do a healthy dinner party - marinated and grilled shish kabobs with a choice of beef, tofu or shrimp and lots of veggies, brown rice, a nice big green salad and perhaps another veggie side. I am so excited because we haven't seen these people in a little while and I like them a lot. I am also so excited to possibly go bowling at Lincoln Square Lanes, my favorite bowling alley of all time. Its so small and scuzzy and totally old school, open really late and filled with hipsters and locals on the weekend, good times!
I'm going to the gym a lot, or at least trying to as much as possible. I am really liking what I am seeing in terms of muscle tone on my arms, now I need to work extra hard on my legs. I tried to put on this stupid pair of Diesel jeans that I bought in Germany when I was on my study abroad and sort of fit then but don't fit now. The frustrating thing is that they would fit around my waist just fine, my thighs are seriously disproportionate to the rest of my body and that is what is keeping me from getting the pants up. If I can lose three inches off each thigh I am sure I'll be able to wear them just fine. Seeing as I have until September to do so I think that's a reasonable goal. I'm going to keep them in my closet until I am done with my trainer routine just incase, why waste a good pair of Diesels if I might be able to wear them soon??
I can't wait to get engaged, we are already brainstorming ideas for our wedding. Its a little silly, like I'll bust out with a wacky idea in the kitchen or Dan will see something and be like "I really like that, maybe at our wedding!". As I told my stylist on Saturday, we don't have any details hammered out nor are we even engaged yet but all we know is that it will be totally indie rock!
Halloween - love our expressions, I personally think we just radiate the fun we were having, or at least I do!
New Years Eve - Dan's face looks noticeably thinner. Go Dan! My favorite picture taken of us recently.
