As the new year is fast approaching, I figured everyone could use a few more friends for the coming year! This is a small general meme, trying to focus more on personality as opposed to simply listing favorites. I find that similar qualities in people tend to work better than just liking the same shows.

Beliefs (political/religious/etc.): This is such a broad question I'm not sure how to begin tackling it, except to say that my beliefs are scattered all throughout my journal and anyone who is interested will probably have no difficulty sussing them out. If this prompt is meant to be used for the purposes of gatekeeping, though, I'll just go ahead and say that I'm politically quite liberal, and that while I was raised in the church, I can't really be fussed much about organized religion these days.
Describe yourself in a few sentences: I'm a family services worker with an Early Head Start program based out of a local nonprofit agency. I run our Prenatal program and work with parents of children from birth to age three. My job is to provide education on fetal and child development, and to oversee the educational, health, and social development of the individuals in the program, as well as assisting their families in accessing resources to help support them in making positive changes to their life situations in whatever areas they deem most critical. I don't know why I always fall into the trap of describing my job when someone asks me to talk about myself, but I take pride in what I do and I think that it tells a lot about who I am.
Anything you identify strongly with?: While I am a sucker for pop-psychology and personality tests, I don't know that I'd say I "identify strongly" with any of them. I used to think I was a Ravenclaw to the core, but now I think it's far more likely that I'd be a Ravenclaw/Gryffindor hatstall. Similarly, I waffle between INTP and INFP on the MBTI depending on what aspects of my 'self' are the most prominent at the time. I once asked my partner which fictional characters I most resembled and she said Jon Snow and Tyrion Lannister from Game of Thrones (the HBO series), Simon Tam from Firefly, and Piotr Rasputin (Colossus) from the X-Men. So if that means anything to you, there you go!
Anything you'd like to add? Sure. Since these questions have mostly been on the subject of identity I'll go ahead and note that I'm queer and hard of hearing, and both of those things play strongly into how I view myself.
Interests
Your hobbies/interests: The usual suspects. Photography, board games, travel... I also do some sport shooting, though I rarely mention it in my journal. (And I am wholly understanding of people's discomfort with the practice.) I enjoy watching films and television; though perhaps it would be more accurate to say I like analyzing films and television for the themes that are of the most interest to me.
Fandoms: I'm not particularly fandom-active, and you won't find a lot of fandom related content in my journal, unless it's filtered through the lens of something I find more personally interesting. (Kind of like what I mentioned above.) I can give you a list of television shows that I'm into right now, though, if it'd help you see what we may have in common: A Young Doctor's Notebook, Arrested Development, Daredevil, Fargo, Firefly, The Following, House of Cards, Parks and Recreation, Mad Men, Modern Family, MI-5, Orange is the New Black, Ripper Street, Sherlock... I tend to go on Netflix binges, rather than watching anything on television. I'm also really into comic books.
Ships: Neh. Mr. Wrench and Mr. Numbers from FX Fargo.
Current Obsession?: Russell Harvard. And Clint Barton (particularly the Fraction/Aja/Hollingsworth run). And Russell Harvard giving Jeremy Renner the boot and taking Deaf Clint Barton to the Marvel cinematic universe.
Fictional characters you relate to: Got ahead of myself here, didn't I? See above.
What does/doesn't interest you in fandom?: I don't do fanfics or anything like that, really. I love meta-analysis, though.
How do you like to relax?: Netflix, writing, taking long drives, pampering myself with LUSH products and face masks...

Most of your posts are: The majority of my journal entries are of a personal nature. I frequently discuss what's going on in my life either professionally or personally. I post photographs, and will sometimes make polls to satisfy my idle curiosity on random subjects. Sometimes I'll rant about things that are of importance to me, or ramble about my latest obsession.
How frequently you use LJ: It's been less frequent lately than I would prefer, but I'd say about once a week or so.
LJ pet peeves: It's not a pet peeve, but if you're someone who only really uses your journal to post fandom-related material, I probably won't have much to contribute, and will likely find myself skipping over journal entries unless they're about something I take a really great interest in.
Friending policy: My posts are locked by default, but I'm really not fussy. Please just comment if you're adding me. LiveJournal is notorious for not sending me those notifications. Also, if at any time you feel like we don't connect or you aren't interested in what I have to say, feel free to remove me. No hard feelings about that.

Yeah I think there are only about 3 letters or so that are different.
I know a few ASL signs that I picked up watching Switched at Birth or interviews with cast members of Spring Awakening.
