At this point, it was taking all of Katniss' concentration not to actively have a nervous breakdown. In two days, she'd be going home, and in two weeks, she'd be reaped for the second time, and there wouldn't be any handful of nightlock to save her this go-around.
Which was why, of course, she was spending her last few days on the island, in relative peace, doing what she could to distract herself. She'd already trained as much as her body would let her for the morning, and the afternoon found her resting, because she knew pulling something was the last thing she needed to do before going home. 'Rest,' of course, was purely physical in this case -- she was looking over a pile of books on plants from the library, trying to memorize the shapes of leaves and berries and roots.
Even if lightning didn't strike twice, it wasn't as though it could possibly hurt.
